Still Waiting

Still Waiting

Hours, days, and weeks creep by
And still neither the day nor hour is known.
My heart is heavy and sad.
The pain I feel is so real.
Life around me continues with laughter and fun.
I paste on a smile for all to see
while inside my heart aches and bleeds.
Still for my lover I wait
With a song in my heart.
But the time of meeting is still unknown.

The Church

The Church

One bride looks spotless and white.
Another broken yet true.
One proclaims her every good deed.
The other just humbly asks for forgiveness.
The one on the rooftop declares her Lover's name.
The other quietly serves His every need.
The one calls herself the Church.
The other is the hands and feet of her Lord.

Just Trust Me?

Trust me...it's a commonly used phrase, but it can also be one of the hardest things to actually do. Trust, by definition, is a reliance of the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc. of a person or thing; confidence. (Webster Dictionary) How often in today's society can we really "trust" someone that we think we know? And yet the problem really comes in when we "trust" God like we "trust" our acquaintances.

Psalms 9:10 says, "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." In order to truly know someone you first must spend time with them.

I think back on all the time I have spent with my family over the past 21 years and realize that I know my family therefore I can trust them. Because I have spent time with my parents talking about God's Word, talking about the events in our lives, talking about random goofy subjects... I know that my parents are going to do their best to help me no matter what the cost. I trust my parents, I have a relationship with them. I think it is the same way with God. If you never take the time to talk to Him about the way you feel, the events in your life, the pen you misplaced, whatever is going on that affects you and the people you love, then how can you expect to have a relationship with God? And if you do not truly have a relationship with Him, can you really trust Him completely and totally? If you have not taken time to talk to god how do you know for sure that He keeps His Word, that He will always be there for you...that you really can rely on Him for everything?

You can "know" that you can trust God, but when the going gets tough...do you really trust the Lord? Or do you just "trust" Him?
