You ever take a step back, look at your life and wonder what it the world God is doing? I'd say join the crowd only I have seen a small sneak peek of my future and I can see exactly what my past 22 years have been about. The one question that still stumps me more often then not though is, "ok God I know some of what you have for me, but how do I get there? What do you want me to do now?" The answer more often then not is so simple it's almost literally right in front of me. "Love the one in front of you. Care for the one in front of you. Listen to the one in front of you. Encourage and lift up the discouraged and broken-hearted." And that list can go on for days so I shall leave it at that.
Sometimes though that answer is not enough for me and so I start to dig in deeper. "Ok yeah I know that much God, but how? What are my next steps? I know you see many moves ahead of what I can see...so what then?" See sometimes it's easy to get bogged down with the question...what's next...and totally miss the "right now".
So here's my thought for the day...don't ask what the next steps are, ask who "the one" is. That one that God puts in your path to point to Him. Let Him lead the steps and let Him worry about the next five to five hundred steps. You focus on that one person He has in your life today and listen to how He wants you to reach out to that one person. (or however many people He has put in your life today to point toward Him) Ask Him how to reach that one or the ones He has placed in front of you. As you go along you will begin to see that you are ever so gently and slowly making your way to the amazing future God has for you, but you have not gotten distracted by that and forgotten about the moments in each day that better prepare you for that future.
